Michael Evans and San Francisco
architecture featured in
LensWork
I am pleased to announce
that the Whispers Series will be featured in the July/August 2006 issue
of LensWork. The Whispers Series is a
photographic essay featuring architectural survivors of the 1906
San Francisco earthquake. San Francisco landmarks represented in
the study include the James Flood Mansion (Pacific Union Club),
the Old U.S. Mint, Hibernia Bank, Fort Point, and many others.
LensWork is published six times a year by LensWork Publishing.
Each issue features articles, interviews, and photographic
portfolios. In addition to the print version, LensWork also offers
an extended edition on CD, which features audio interviews with
featured photographers and extended portfolios. LensWork can be
purchased at Borders, Barnes and Noble, and "better
bookstores" throughout the United States, and will be available
in July.

Two photographs from the Material Worlds series are currently
on view in the Fashion for Karma exhibition at California
Modern Art Gallery. Opening night, Friday, July 7, 2006,
will be a benefit for Camp
Okizu, and will include a fashion show
and after party. Tickets for the event are available at the California
Modern Art Gallery website.
